Who we are

Iris helps photographers choose camera settings and finish their photos. This policy explains what the app collects, where it goes, and what you can remove.

Iris is built and operated by an independent developer working as Iris Photo Studio, based in Singapore, at irisphotostudio.co.

Write to hello@irisphotostudio.co with any question about this policy — including to ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted.

Your account

If you create an account we store your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Apple we receive whatever Apple passes on — this may be a private relay address rather than your real email, and optionally your name.

Your profile — your name, handle, location and bio — is stored with your account on our servers, so it follows you when you sign in on another phone. It is shown to you in the app and is not visible to other people.

Your sign-in token is kept in the device keychain (encrypted storage), not in ordinary app storage.

Your photos stay on your device

Iris does not upload your photos. Asking for camera settings reads the light from your sample shot on the device itself, and editing and exporting are rendered on the device too.

Your photos are not seen by us or by any third party, and they are not used to train anything.

What stays on your device

The camera and lens kit you enter, the genres you pick, your edit library, saved presets and your gear selection are stored only on your device. They are not synced to your account, which also means they do not follow you to another phone.

Photos you edit stay on the device until you delete them or the app.

Services we use

Our servers are hosted by DigitalOcean. Verification and password-reset emails are sent through Resend, which receives your email address and the message for that purpose only.

Our servers keep short operational logs to keep the service running. These can include your email address when an email fails to send.

Iris has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and we do not sell or share your information.

Permissions

The camera permission is used to take reference and metering photos. The photo library permission is used to import photos to edit, and to save finished photos back to your library. You can change both at any time in the system Settings; the app keeps working with them off, minus the features that need them.

Deleting your data

Deleting your account from Edit Profile permanently removes your account and profile from our servers, signs you out on every device, and removes your shot history, saved presets and edit library from this device. It cannot be undone.

Logging out clears the account-scoped data held on the device, but keeps your account.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top and the text in the app.
